Written by: Zachary Aaron Keatts It is true that politically women, through time, it seems have never been allowed high political positions. One must beg the question, what about the queens of England?
During the late sixteen hundreds to the late eighteen hundreds they were in control of the most powerful country in the world. In Egypt, as well, it has been recorded that for periods of time when Pharaoh's died the queen
would rule, or if the Pharaoh was too young his mother would rule. Many times it has been recorded that a woman would rule through a man. The man had the title of ruler, all the decisions came from him, but it was
actually the woman who manipulated and in turn really made the decisions. Is it fair then to say that women have been oppressed politically? In today's society, yet, the attitude still
pervades and is pushed by women who say they are oppressed. Why cry out oppression when they can take action and be recognized for individual thinking such as Emily Dickinson or Marie Curie? Why cry out oppression when
they can gain a job with so little education, unlike their predecessors (male and female). Why cry out subjugation when they live in the richest country in the world? It is with these permutations, axioms, and
propositions that one can see that the overall oppression of women is merely a myth shouted by voices who have a skewed view on reality. Men have suffered alongside women in every station of life. Men have died in wars
while women cared for the homes. Men have sacrificed their bodies to manual labor. There is no question of whether there is equality or oppression because, due to human nature, it is always going to exist for both men
and women. The question, then is what will they do with the time they are dealt?
